Our procedure includes:
Knee Arthroscopy
Knee arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that is used to diagnose and treat a variety of knee injuries. It involves the insertion of a thin camera called an arthroscope into the joint. The surgeon can then view the inside of the joint, allowing them to identify any problems or damage and determine the best course of action. Following the procedure, a patient typically needs to wear a brace for several weeks and may need physical therapy to assist with recovery. Typically, knee arthroscopy patients can expect to be able to walk without crutches within 2-3 weeks of surgery and resume all activities in 6-8 weeks.
Knee Replacement
Knee replacement is a surgical procedure that replaces worn or damaged surfaces of the knee joint with artificial parts. During the operation, the surgeon will remove damaged cartilage and bone from the thigh bone, shinbone, and kneecap, then attach metal and plastic components to create a new joint. Recovery from knee replacement typically takes up to 6 weeks, although this varies based on factors such as age and overall health. During recovery, patients are encouraged to follow a physical therapy regimen with exercises designed to strengthen the leg muscles around the knee joint.
Meniscus Surgery
The repair or removal of all or part of a meniscus, which is a cartilage in the knee joint that helps stabilize and cushion the joint. Depending on what area of the meniscus is damaged, arthroscopic (minimally invasive) or open techniques may be used to complete the procedure. Return to full activity in the knee can take from six to eight weeks, although many patients can resume lighter activities sooner.
ACL Reconstruction
ACL reconstruction surgery is a minimally invasive procedure to repair the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the knee joint. During the procedure, an orthopedic surgeon will make small incisions at the sides of your knee and use an arthroscope to view and work on the damaged areas. The ACL is reconstructed with a tendon graft, which is then anchored into the bone with screws or buttons. After the surgery, a knee brace may be applied and the patient will begin physical therapy to slowly regain strength and flexibility in their injured leg. The typical recovery time for ACL reconstruction surgery is 6-9 months, depending on the individual’s condition and how well they adhere to their post-operative rehabilitation plan.
